📢YouTube Cracks Down on Inauthentic Content Starting July 15

YouTube is drawing a clear line between authentic, human-driven content and mass-produced material that offers little unique value, starting July 15.

The policy specifically affects content borrowed from other sources with minimal changes, repetitive templated videos and clickbait uploads that prioritize views over genuine value.

🚫 Most Affected Creators:

  • Content aggregators who compile clips without transformation

  • Automated AI-generated content channels

  • Low-effort reaction channels

  • Faceless channels lacking any human input

👉 What To Do:

  • Add your own unique commentary and personal perspective.

  • Show human presence through face reveals or distinct voice.

  • Significantly transform any reused content with analysis.

Simply adding music or changing speed won't qualify as "transformation".

  • Use AI only as a support tool not to make final editorial choices.

  • Focus on genuine viewer engagement over pure view counts.

The policy aims to protect advertiser interests and content ecosystem integrity.

Creators producing authentic, high-quality content may benefit from reduced competition to gain more visibility.

Meanwhile, those relying on automated or low-effort approaches face demonetization or removal from the Youtube Partner Program.

📊Google Adds Forum Rich Results Search Console

Google Search Console now includes a dedicated “Discussion Forum” filter in Performance reports.

What Is Happening:

Now publishers can see specific impressions, clicks, and position data for forum-style content and measure its impact clearly.

This update applies to pages using DiscussionForumPosting or SocialMediaPosting structured data designed for user-generated threads with visible conversations.

To qualify, pages must meet structured data requirements like proper formatting, authorship, and content types.

⚒ Next steps:

✔Choose optimal format

Use Microdata or RDFa instead of JSON-LD to reduce text duplication in large discussion blocks.

✔Monitor Performance

Use the new filter to track which forum categories or threads attract the most search traffic.

✔Analyze Engagement Patterns

Identify high-performing discussion topics and optimize forum structure accordingly.

✔Preserve Context

For threaded discussions, nest comments under original posts to maintain conversational flow.

✔Use Appropriate Schema

Implement QAPage schema for question-and-answer style content instead of forum markup.

👉 Takeaway:
This update signals Google's commitment to surfacing valuable user discussions in search results while providing publishers with the tools to optimize this content effectively.

🧠 The AI Browser War Heats Up: Can Perplexity and OpenAI Dethrone Google?

Word has it that Perplexity & OpenAI are developing their own AI-powered browsers, both targeting Google dominance in search.

These new browsers use agentic AI to complete tasks like trip planning and summarizing content without ever loading a webpage.

💡 The Stakes:

  • Google Search generated $198 billion in 2024 through ads.

  • Chrome provides crucial user data for targeted advertising.

  • If AI browsers bypass websites entirely, that threatens both ad revenue and publisher traffic.

⚒ Challenges:

  • Scale Disparity: Perplexity reported 780 million search queries in May 2024 (a number Google reaches in just 81 minutes).

  • Technical Limitations: Early reviews indicate AI browsers still make crucial mistakes, particularly in complex tasks like online booking

  • Possible barriers in mainstream adoption.

👀 The irony?

Both Perplexity's Comet and OpenAI's rumored browser are built on Google's Chromium code.

While Perplexity and OpenAI are positioning their browsers as revolutionary alternatives to traditional search, they're still in early stages with limited market penetration compared to Google's massive scale.

📱 Instagram Content Now Searchable by Google

Starting July 10, 2025, Instagram allows search engines like Google to index public content from professional accounts (business or creator accounts of users over 18).

This includes photos, videos, carousels, and Reels.

✔What To Know:

It’s On by Default: If you have an eligible account, this setting is automatically enabled.

To opt out: Go to Settings → Privacy → “Allow public photos and videos to appear in search engine results.”

Why It Matters:

Instagram posts will now show up in Google search results competing with web pages, news, and YouTube videos.

That means your content is no longer just for followers; it’s globally discoverable.

🔍What to Do:

  • Write keyword-rich captions (especially the first line).

  • Add descriptive alt text.

  • Use hashtags strategically.

  • Optimize your bio with keywords.

  • Pin posts that highlight your services.

  • Track search and social analytics together.

Your Instagram content must now be relevant enough for search intents and serve social engagement goals, in-app.
