Google AI Mode: Help or Hindrance?

Google’s new AI Mode doesn’t track your traffic — at all. At least according to how the critics are telling it.
Gist of the matter:
If users click your site from an AI-generated answer in Google Search, you won’t know it. Why? It simply does not show in Google Search Console (GSC) and other analytics platforms.
📉 In other terms:
No referrer data is passed with AI Mode clicks.
GSC shows zero clicks from AI Mode.
Links from AI Mode use the
noreferrer
tag, which strips attribution completely.
😤 Why This Matters:
You can’t measure the real performance of AI-powered answers — yet Google keeps insisting they’re “driving more traffic than ever.” But with no data, it’s all unprovable spin. And with Google suggesting we "focus less on clicks" and more on "visit quality," it sounds more like a “Don’t ask too many questions” scenario.
